AURORA is newcomer Aurora Aksnes, a young Scandinavian singer and songwriter from Bergen, Norway. Trained from a young age on the piano, she began trying her hand at crafting songs and lyrics at only 10 years old, inspired by classic material from Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash. A debut performance three years later marked her entry into the world of professional music. AURORA’s emotive, unearthly voice, lyrical storytelling and chilly electronics has won praise from critics throughout Europe and the States, with New York Magazine describing one cut as “the soundtrack to your wilderness fantasy.” To date, she has released a string of singles on Petroleum Records and Decca, including “Under Stars,” “Runaway,” and “Running with the Wolves.”
