Bat For Lashes
Bat For Lashes (aka Natasha Khan) first captured our imaginations with her darkly fantastical magical realist songs back in 2006. She unveiled her sensually decorated sonic dream world via two Mercury Music Prize-nominated albums: 2006’s atavistic, reverb-drenched Fur and Gold and 2009’s more electronically poppy Two Suns. The latter featured the irresistible “Daniel”, a song recorded in London and across America, which won Khan an Ivor Novello award for Best Contemporary Song. This was followed by a triumphant return in 2012 via her highly acclaimed third album, The Haunted Man. A richly layered and accomplished record, it pulled Khan’s distinctive creative vision into sharper focus, confirming her as an innovative and established artistic presence in the UK scene. Khan has since been nominated for Best Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards. Her track, “Laura”, was nominated for another Ivor Novello for Best Song Musically And Lyrically.
