35 years ago today a TV channel started a music revolution. Created to showcase music videos, MTV quickly became the go-to source for every music lover. And, in the years since the ’80s it’s been at the forefront of culture thanks to its classic programs—which its bringing back— like 120 minutes.
But everything started on August 1, 1981 with the words “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll” followed by the music video for The Buggles’ “Video Killed The Radio Star”.
