These Huge Wooden Megaphones Reveal The Song of The Forest
Somewhere in an Estonian forest, close to the Latvian border, three massive wooden megaphones are amplifying the natural soundscape. Built and installed by interior architecture students at the Estonian Academy of Arts, the megaphones are three meters in diameter and resemble bandstands (outdoor concert structures). “We’ll be placing the three megaphones at such a distance and at a suitable angle, so at the center of the installation, sound feed from all three directions should create a unique merged surround sound effect,” department head Hannes Praks says. The structures also double as installation art and a place for visitors to rest. See more via The Creators Project.
