Modular synth legend and Kraftwerk co-founder Florian Schneider is tired of watching fishermen catch nothing but plastic garbage in their nets. On the occasion of the international Paris climate conference COP 21, Florian teamed up with the artist-driven organization and environmental campaign Parley for the Ocean to take action in the best way he can: by making a track that tells it like it is.
On “Stop Plastic Polution”, the sound of a synthetically generated wave, which was made out of sampling one actual water drop, later morphs into a noise like a tiny plastic ball. Florian talks about his statement and this collaboration in this interview for Dazed, the same publication that premiered his heavy play sea-wave treat.
