Sort of like a bizarre musical Möbius strip, musician and technologist Koka Nikoladze has created a rhythm box from assembled materials that largely predate anything remotely like a drum machine. This odd device of coils, springs and wood is able to make analog rhythm patterns that wouldn’t be out of place on any of your favorite electronic jams. Peep the video above to see how tubes, coils, an Arduino and some scrap metal can make an instrumental hip-hop beat in a hot second.
