Cassette buff Alexis Malbert has a knack for crafting new technology, and FACT has brought to our attention that he’s come up with the best idea ever: the scratchette, a scratch machine for tapes. His technological experiments regarding tapes began in the 1990s, when he built various sound installations by altering a standard cassette player. His inventions included the Wheeling Walkman and the Audio-Skate, which dealt with the idea of movement, and his latest experiments may change the way we use cassettes.
