EB’s survey of inventive music-making gear marches on with this pocket-size modular synth. According to Synthtopia, the NS1nanosynth from Italian manufacturer Soundmachines trims back on features that boost modulars’ price tags—things like front panels and control knobs, not to mention hefty shipping costs—without compromising the features that effect sound, such as analog VCO, filters, LFOs, ADSR envelope generator and VCA. The nanosynth also comes with a programmable Arduino processor, which reportedly adds support for USB-MIDI. Find additional details here and check out some more demo videos here.
