Plan Your Summer With EB’s Map Of European Music Festivals
Festival season has certainly arrived, so we’ve scrambled to sort out our itineraries before it gets into full swing. We’ve already missed out on Rokolectiv in Bucharest, Resonate in Belgrade and, as of this past weekend, Kiev’s 24-hour Strichka bacchanal, and we’re determined to prevent future FOMO by laying out all the festivals of note to us in one handy map. The black dots represent bucket-list festivals that loom large in the collective consciousness—your Sónars, your Glastonburys, your Melts, your Croatian beach bashes—but that we wouldn’t necessarily attend ourselves unless we had a friend playing or a whole crew going.
On the other hand, we strongly recommend you note the pink dots, as those mark the spots of European summertime events between June and August (plus one in September) that we’re truly keen to experience (or those that we’re working with in Poland). We’re planning our trips to Italy to chill at experimental music retreat Terraforma, to the Czech Republic for longtime EB favorite Creepy Teepee and a one-night SHAPE program event at Prague’s MeetFactory and to Moscow to attend the day-long madness that is Outline. And, of course, you’ll find us at the increasingly critical semi-underground conventions in Paris (Weather) and Amsterdam (Dekmantel).
