Next month, Boiler Room is joining forces with Ninja Tune to stage a collaboration between the London Contemporary Orchestra and techno illusionist Actress AKA Darren J. Cunningham. In anticipation of the event, Cunningham describes how the project—which, among other things, translates code-generated satellite sounds into instrumental music—reconciles electronic and organic sound. The joint effort experiments with traditional frames of performance and notation, as well as spatiality, acoustics and architecture.
