Berlin's Newest Club Lets You Party In An Old Bowling Alley

arkaoda is set to open in the city’s vibrant Neukölln district.

Berlin will add another jewel to its glittering crown of world class clubs and music spots with the immanent opening of arkaoda. The club will take over a former bowling alley on Karl-Marx Platz in the heart of Berlin’s vibrant and multicultural Neukölln district.

The Berlin venue will become the sister club to arkaoda in Istanbul, Turkey, which opened back in 1999. lt will boast club nights and live performances, as well as have a bar and food menu and a side room for DJs spinning throughout the week. In a statement released last week, the club was started “to search for the new and different, to support independent music and art and working with like-minded people, collectives and organizations. Creating a niche, a home for genre-bending concerts, festivals and parties.”

A pre-launch last week lived up to that description, with Acido Records head honcho Dynamo Dreesen, avant-experimentalists Air Cushion Finish and a rotating cast of local talent from across Berlin’s scenes descending on the venue. The site will definitely be a welcome addition to the already mind-bobbling cultural riches of the city, so keep an eye on their forthcoming program here.
