Even though humans have been making music for thousands of years, the ability to capture and reproduce sound has only happened relatively recently. Terry Burrows’ The Art Of Sound—A Visual History For Audiophiles, which was made in collaboration with the EMI (Electronic and Musical Industries) seeks to document this time by presenting a visual history of how recording processes have evolved. The book is divided into four sections—acoustic, electrical, magnetic and digital—that represent major milestones in the world of sound.
