Korg's New App Lets You Play 16 Synths On Your Nintendo Switch
“A music creation studio that feels like a game.”
Synth giant KORG is bringing its acclaimed music production software to one of the world’s beloved gaming consoles, the Nintendo Switch. First teased late last year, the Korg Gadget for Nintendo Switch finally launches April 26 and will be available for only $48 USD.
The music production suite includes 16 versatile instruments and drum machines, including the Kamata chiptune synth, which was co-created with video game developers Namco. Thanks to the software’s unique workflow, Switch users will be able to tweak sounds, arrange, sequence and mix tracks completely on the fly. The software also takes full advantage of the Switch’s unique Joy-Con controllers, which can be assigned to different parameters, allowing you to tweak synths or improvise melodies.
Gadget for Nintendo Switch also comes with a multi-player mode allowing four users to simultaneously work on a track, so if you’ve ever wanted to collaborate on a Nintendo OST-inspired album, now might be your time. See the software in action above, and find out more details about Gadget for Nintendo Switch over on the Korg website here.
