Make Odd Electroacoustic Sounds With A Squeezebox Invention
The PushPull is a hackable, open source electro-acoustic squeezebox.
We were bowled over the first time we encountered the PushPull, an innovative instrument developed as part of an interdisciplinary team for the design and development of new musical instruments. The idea is superb: you create insane sounds by blowing hot steam over microphones, and you can further shape the noises with fingertip sensors. What’s more, the designers have made all the materials documenting the creation of the instrument available to the public for free on Github. This means you can now build, use and improve this remarkable instrument further. That’s the kind of generosity we like in the music industry. Check it in action below.
