German right-wing party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has been using Paul van Dyk’s track “Wir sind wir” to promote their sketchy political ideas in public. Up until recently, the track had served as background music for faction chairman Björn Höcke’s speeches, until van Dyk realized and got his lawyer to intervene. “I explicitly distance myself from the AfD,” he told German newspaper Die Zeit. He added that if AfD continue to use the track, he is definitely going to sue them. The AfD have yet to release a statement. Is this a case of history repeating itself? Alec Empire and Irmin Schmidt sound off on that subject here.
