Raster-Noton Celebrates 20 Years With Book and Compilation
The experimental techno label tells its story in the 400-page memoir Source Book 1.
German label Raster-Noton is well known for its avant-garde audiovisual offerings and minimal, proto-glitch releases. Since 1996, it has provided a platform for seminal multidisciplinary artists like Ryoji Ikeda and Carsten Nicolai, as well as electronic music producers like Alva Noto, Grischa Lichtenberger, Mika Vainio, Atom TM and Kangding Ray.
For its 20th anniversary, the label has created a 400-page hardcover book, Source Book 1, that details the label’s extensive catalog and history. It is also accompanied by a special compilation CD entitled archiv 4, which includes tracks from label denizens Frank Brentschneider, Emptyset, Senking, Uneo Masaaki and Anne-James Chaton. Source Book 1 is due out on March 17. Pre-order your copy here.
