Legendary BBC1 radio host John Peel, who passed away in 2004, was the gateway to pop music for more than a generation. He played Nirvana before anyone else, he gave David Bowie his big break and he launched countless other musical projects via his legendary, initmate Peel Sessions. Those session were also released on his label, Strange Fruit.
And that’s what comprises this 15 (!) hour playlist of seminal Peel Session cuts compiled by a Spotify user. It includes a full range of great stuff that includes early Neu!, essential post-punk and even tracks from when he helped to break dubstep to a wider audience than ever before.
