Take A First Listen To Avalon Emerson’s New Remix For Octo Octa

The rising star prepares a space-age edit for the forthcoming Honey Soundsystem EP, Adrift.

It comes as no surprise that after a year of intense production and touring schedules, two of the house music world’s most successful rising starts should come together on a single collaboration.

Octo Octa—who recently spoke to Terre Thaemlitz and the Electronic Beats team—has been preparing her second full-length for some time following the success of her Between Two Selves LP in 2013. “When Octo Octa sent us the demos for her first full-length record since 2013, we were floored by how many tracks were single-worthy,” the Honey Soundsystem team said. “We were blindsided to learn that she has never had any of her music remixed before. With some remixers in mind, she asked two of her favorites and they said yes. So, here we are to present HNY-016.”

The entire album will come out tomorrow, August 25, but you can get a sneak preview by listening to Avalon Emerson’s dark and soulful remix of the EP’s single, “Adrift”, below.
