This Artist Turns Forgotten CDs Into Amazing Sculptures
CDs are never coming back. Here’s what we should do with them instead.
Vinyl is more popular than its been in 20 years and more people are using streaming services than ever before. In other words, RIP CDs, it’s been nice knowing you. The once popular format is now clogging up landfills and dumpsters all over the world. Thankfully, it seems there is still some use for this antiquated format.
Australian artist Sean Avery turns CD waste into art. Trawling for unwanted CDs and DVDs, Avery upcycles the plastic discs by transforming them into striking sculptures of animal and plant life. Check out some of his creations below.
