Watch How Deru Overcomes Creative Difficulties In The Studio
The Emmy award winner discusses his studio routine and production techniques.
In this three-minute video by Native Instruments, the Emmy-winning composer and producer Deru communicates strategies for overcoming frustration, creating a production schedule and tapping into the creative core. “Creativity is exploring something deep down inside you,” the producer says. “It’s really trying to go deep and figure out what’s in there.”
Deru also explains how he uses FORM, a sample-tracking synthesizer from Native Instruments, to create his signature drones and meandering melodies. Native Instruments is holding a competition for producers to download Deru’s samples and to use FORM to turn them into a track.
