Over the past few years Paris’ electronic music scene has seen a major resurgence.
Underground nightlife is booming in the French capital. That’s thanks to clubs like Concrète, La Machine Du Moulin Rouge and Showcase. On top of that, the yearly Weather Festival is drawing crowds of up to 50,000 people—it’s become an international fixture in the festival circuit. In short: Paris is burning again.
With that said. Now is a great time to look back and reflect on the history of the present. A new 30 minute documentary called The Underground Sound Of Paris has local luminaries like Laurent Garnier, D’Julz, DJ Deep, Francois X and Antigone sharing their memories of the city’s development. Along the way they explain how Paris rediscovered its love for all things house and techno.
