Animal Collective and Prince Rama bring Brooklyn to Berlin
Germans with a taste for East Coast vibes, get ready to psych out. Next Sunday, Animal Collective are bringing their clattering noise-pop to Berlin for a special show co-promoted by Electronic Beats. Joining them will be sisters Nimai and Taraka Larson, ushering in a new age of tribal togetherness as Prince Rama. Both bands have just released new albums: AC’s Centipede Hz is the antidote to the sunny summer sounds of Merriweather Post Pavilion, thickly-textured industrial-tinged electronics that counterpoint the joyful vocals perfectly. Meanwhile, Prince Rama’s conceptual Top Ten Hits of the End of the World finds the duo channeling the ghosts of dead pop stars into re-imagined post-apocalyptic hits. We’re looking forward to our upcoming interview with the Larsons, who we haven’t spoke to since they released last year’s Trust Now.
We know you want to be there; we want the same thing! That’s why we’re giving away eight tickets to eight lucky readers (passed on the left, of course). Simply send an email to community@electronicbeats.net. We’ll contact you if you won…good luck, and good vibes.
