Atari Teenage Riot return with Is This Hyperreal?
Atari Teenage Riot are back with a new album, their first since 1999’s 60 Second Wipeout and by the way things look, their rebellious attitude has not changed at all. Frontman Alec Empire calls Is This Hyperreal? "the definite [sic] protest album for the Google age."
Since their formation in 1992 the Berlin-based electronic punks have been considered to be both agitators (amongst the left) and musical innovators. On Is This Hyperreal? ATR explore topics such as digital decay, Wikileaks, codebreaking, human trafficking, class war and the like. You can get take a listen to the first single ‘Blood In My Eyes’ at ATR’s website.
The band’s lineup includes a new MC, CX KiDTRONiK, Empire himself and longtime member Nic Endo. Is This Hyperreal? will be released via Digital Hardcore Recordings on June 20th.
