Brian Eno’s Apollo performed live
Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks was an album recorded in 1983 by Brian Eno and was the musical accompaniment to a NASA collection of footage from the Apollo space programme. Never performed live the soundtrack was purely studio work. However four of the original musicians from “The Apollo Project” have brought the original score to life with a performance which took place last Friday at the opening of the New York Guitar Festival at the World Financial Center’s Wintergarden. Prior to the event the musicians; Mike Gordon, Larry Campbell and itsnotyouitsme (Caleb Burhans & Grey McMurray) performed some of the music us on the WNYC radio station’s New Sounds program.
