Counting with Henning Lahmann
Henning is the latest signing to the Electronic Beats roster. Starting this Thursday, he’s going to issue “Beyond Beats”, a monthly column about leftfield pop and outsider electronics. Otherwise he might be known as the founder and editor of the Berlin-based blog No Fear Of Pop and as an occasional writer for International Tapes and Altered Zones. If not stuck at his desk, once a month you might find him DJ’ing with a bunch of other lost bloggers at some bar in Berlin Neukölln where he tries to force people to actually listen to the weird music he keeps writing about. Let’s count with Henning.
1 memorable line in a film or song:
“Limps parallel/We stood so long we fell.”
2 decisions I regret:
I probably should have started doing something like this way earlier. Oh, and I guess I should’ve refused to do that other thing in the first place.
3 people that should collaborate:
Inga Copeland
James Ferraro
Nâ Hawa Doumbia
4 things I haven’t done yet:
Eaten a snail
Visited Israel
Read Nietzsche
Seen a moose
5 things I used to believe:
REM will never break up
Hamburg is cooler than Berlin
Politics change
We have all the time in the world
Pluto is a planet
Still lying in bed, lazy day.
7 days I barely remember:
Now that you ask, I really don’t remember what I’ve been doing between February 7 and 13, 1989.
After 8 p.m. …
…it will be almost dark, sure sign that summer is irretrievably gone.
My 9 lives …
I’ve checked, unfortunately I’m not a cat.
10 years since 9/11 …
…yet the Earth is still rotating.
