Dorian Concept preps Ninja Tune debut

Dorian Concept, the baby faced beat machine, who’s contribution to Ninja Tune XX was one of the undoubted highlights of the anniversary box set, is about to have his first full release with the label – an E.P called Her Tears Tasted Like Pears.

With stints as a part of Flying Lotus’ band as a keyboard player, and an appearance at the Royal Albert Hall with a full string section, Concept is one of the fastest rising stars of the post-beat generation. What is perhaps surprising is that he hails not from London or the UK, but from Vienna where he has studied multimedia art and played classical piano since childhood.

Soaring and soulful Her Tears Tasted Like Pears contains four songs of shuffling beats and intense melancholia unique to Concept.

Ninja Tune will release Her Tears Tasted Like Pears on March 28 2011.
