Matias Aguayo teams up with Battles

Battles drummer John Stanier recently revealed in a new Q + A with Pitchfork that Matias Aguayo from Kompakt Records and Eye from the Boredoms will be appearing on their up and coming album.

The new Battles record will be ready for early summer on Warp Records but not much more can be said than that. After lead member Tyondai Braxton left the group, the now newly formed trio describes their new musical direction as "poppier" even with a bit of "hip-hop."

In other Matias Aguayo news, the Argentinian will be playing the Ether Festival this year at Queen Elizabeth Hall with Juan MacLean and also has a 6 track EP on Kompakt coming out in April.
