Radeq Brousil’s new photography exhibition opens in Prague
Prague-based photographer, DJ, promoter and general man-about-town Radeq Brousil works within the medium of photography (utilizing analogue equipment) and at the same time transgresses it. Among his major influences is music, not only because he spins it and plays it (in his new soon-to-be-revealed band), but also utilizes it in art. His portraits of various local and international bands ooze romanticism and stillness, frozen memories of time that has passed by.
The title of his latest exhibition Untitled 9 – Untitled 15 alludes to methods of his thinking within this project – record and archive. The objects documented in the exhibition, assorted as diptychs, are somehow cold and impersonal. This however is a canny way how to engage the spectator to make his or hers own interpretations.
Radeq Brousil’s Untitled 9 – Untitled 15 is on until 30 September at the Fotograf Gallery in Prague.
