RISING – How To Dress Well
How To Dress Well is an act we have been wanting to write about for some time now. In fact, they have been on our hit list for a good few weeks, yet for some reason, they somehow kept slipping through the net.
Not any more.
How To Dress Well is the musical project of Tom Krell. Sounding like the spooky, haunting and ethereal younger brother of Anthony Hegarty who likes to kick back listening to RnB slow jams and Beyonce.
Sound interesting?
Splitting his time between Brooklyn and Berlin, Krell (originally from Denver) has a voice that evokes the beauty Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, whilst the stripped down, spacious production echoes peers such as Mount Kimbie or James Blake.
Starting out by self-releasing tunes and EP’s via his blog, his debut album Love Remains came in 2010 and was a collection of music released after two 7” were released via Transparent and the other via Lefse Records to critical acclaim.
There are talks of a HTDW album coming on a major some time this year, however keep your eyes on his blog for news bits and pieces.
