Salem: The sun also rises

SALEM have been on a bit of a limp dick lately. A slew of forgettable remixes and baffling nonsense like ‘King Night‘s truck fetishism have made us a bit leery of the Michigan trio’s output, especially considering how much we adore their 2010 debut LP King Night. We’re firmly in the ‘like’ camp on their latest video, however. Created for Interview and cut from footage shot on Jack Donoghue‘s cell phone, ‘SUNRISE’ is at once innocent and corrupt, the sound of angelic choirs singing in rusting industrial corridors. It’s all set to the bleak, grainy imagery that characterizes the band: think David Lynch vacationing with the Manson Family.
