Subculture in black and white
Painting and drawing has experienced something of a renaissance in the last decade, championed even by the youngest generation of artists. The exhibition Subkultura Black and White, currently on display at the 2. Patro club in Prague’s Dlouhá street until end of August, is a testament to this. Despite utilizing traditional techniques, the works of artists like Boris Sirka, Andrej Dúbravský Jan Vytiska, Lucia Dovi?áková or Martin Fischer are inherently macabre and haunting, which is only accentuated by the monochromatic versions of their work.
