Bambounou continues mining those rhythmic possibilities on Whities 021. The first track on the EP, “Temple”, opens with brittle IDM-inspired drum programming coiled around a hypnotic synth line. Mournful pads emerge in the spaces left by the intricate rhythm, adding a tense, emotional ambiguity to the track. It’s a perfect tool to shift the tone and tempo on a dance floors.
