Berlin and Antwerp Promoters Detail Refugee Charity Events

With the influx of Syrian refugees into Europe, DJs and dance music promoters have begun mobilizing to help address the crisis. One such initiative is Belgian promoter IKON’s Techno for Humanity, which hosts Ida Engberg, Guti, Matthias Tanzmann and more in Antwerp on September 17. Revenue will be routed to Médecins Sans Frontières, the Migrant Offshore Aid Station, the International Rescue Committee and the UN Refugee Agency. In Berlin, Laurel Halo plays back-to-back with Konx-om-Pax for a Refugees Welcome fundraising night at Das Gift on September 11; 18+ are also billed. Attendees are invited to bring donations, such as bottled water, toiletries, tents and sleeping bags, smartphones and backpacks. The following week, on September 18, Prince Charles is putting on It’s Bigger Than, with Emika, South London Ordnance, and EB’s own Sven von Thülen. Proceeds go to Moabit hilft, a non-profit initiative supporting refugees in Berlin-Moabit area, and its sister body Ibn Albalad, which supports Syrian refugees in Berlin through volunteer training, personal counseling and social support..
