Just when you thought texting couldn’t get more complicated, the kids went ahead and did it. Introducing MusicMessages!, a new app for iMessage that lets you create melodies with your friends on a multi-octave, polyphonic step sequencer.

Using a classic grid-like format, you can choose from a variety of instruments to construct small tunes which your messaging partner (or partners) can also collaborate on.
