Paisley Park was a great place.
Prince left behind an overwhelmingly bright and spectacular musical legacy. One aspect of this was Paisley Park, the immense studio/headquarters for his label. It was a veritable hit machine with Prince at the controls—it churned out some of pop music’s most memorable moments from the ’80s and beyond.
The video above is a pretty cool insight into just how much of a role Paisley Park played in forming the musical atmosphere in which we now live.
And beyond music, Paisley was revolutionary in other ways: It had wardrobe capabilities that would make a high-end designer jealous, and it also had top-notch video and animation facilities, too. A pioneering place for a pioneering Prince.
Now party with one of Prince’s personal playlists from 1999.
