Electronic Beats Presents A Photographic Homage To Detroit
The legacy of Detroit lives on, as documented by Berlin-based photographer Marie Staggat in her new book, 313ONELOVE. Subtitled “A Love Affair with Electronic Music from Detroit,” the book features portraits of some of the most influential house and techno producers from the Motor City, including Carl Craig, Mike Huckaby, Robert Hood and Moodymann, plus Underground Resistance affiliates, local crews, and many others. In more than 170 black-and-white images, Staggat’s lens lingers on DJs’ ears and hands—the primary tools of their profession—and presents them alongside stories, interviews, quotes and drawings.
To mark the publication of 313ONELOVE on March 31, Electronic Beats is presenting the official launch party in Berlin at Globus in Tresor, the club that first brought Jeff Mills and the UR crew to Berlin back in 1991. A very special Detroit guest is slated to headline. The book will be on sale at the event, with a portion of the proceeds going to support aspiring young musicians in Detroit. Stay tuned for further updates.
