Get To Know Kala, Albania's Newest Boutique Electronic Music Festival
The Black Madonna, Peggy Gou and Moodyman are among the artists gracing the lineup at this Albanian Riviera summer getaway.
A new festival in Albania is set to join the ranks of eastern Europe’s burgeoning summer festival circuit. Kala Festival will run between June 20 and 27, taking place at the small coastal village Dhërmi on the Albanian coast. According to the organizers, it’s Albania’s first international music festival and will host “a wide range of genuinely good music, from obscure selectors to contemporary icons, from living legends to rising stars, from funk and soul to disco and techno.”
Gracing the lineup are the likes of The Black Madonna (whose past interview with EB.tv you can view below), Moodyman, Underground Resistance, Jayda G, Peggy Gou and, very appropriately for the festival’s sun-soaked atmosphere, Balearic legend Alfredo.
The festival will take place across five floors including Empire—”a sprawling throwback to vintage open air clubbing with bars, day beds and its own private beach that will host the main headliners”—a beach cove, a secluded beach forest and two beach bars. A festival wristband includes beach hut or hotel accommodation for your duration at the festival.
It’s stating the obvious that this all sounds too good to be true. Read more about what the festival has planned for your time there with an in-depth over at Stamp The Wax here. Clock the whole line-up and learn how to grab tickets for the festival at their website here.
