There’s nothing better than discovering a rare old classic for the first time. Case in point is the forthcoming reissue of Solar X’s Xrated album by Nina Kraviz’s Galaxiid imprint.
Originally released in 1997, X-Rated is an interesting sonic document from post-Perestroika Moscow that fuses IDM, downtempo, electro and trip-hop into one chaotic package. Listen to “Spanking For Pleasure”, one of the cuts off the album, above.
The record will be released on February 4. It will feature entirely new artwork by Japanese artist Keeichi Tanaami, whom Kraviz met through her association with Tokyo DJ platform Dommune (more on that here). Check out some more clips from the album below.
