Make Music In Your Browser With Google's Music Lab
We’re fans of all music-related apps that help us break up—or eat up—the office workday. (Case in point: the Sampulator and virtual TR-909.) Happily, Google has launched Chrome Music Lab, which encourages easy music-making in your browser using the Web Audio API. The Lab features interactive instruments and a spectrogram that shows what sounds look like in real time, a vocal recorder, and more. And, since it was originally designed as part of Google’s Music In Our Schools initiative, it also offers friendly tools for understanding the fundamentals of harmony, chords and rhythm.
