New Book Untangles Audiovisual Art Production
The Audiovisual Breakthrough, a book by Ana Carvalho and Cornelia Lund, aims to untangle the confusion between five different forms of audiovisual art production. Visual music, expanded cinema, live cinema, VJing and live performance are all audiovisual fields, but none of them are sufficiently defined on a theoretical or historical level. The book, naturally, is a visual delight. Eva-Maria Offermann’s design incorporates another layer of meaning by choosing the font GT Cinetype, which is based on cinematic subtitles.
