This Is The Reason Why Some People Don’t Enjoy Music
Music is just a distraction for people with the rare neurological condition called ‘anhedonia.’
New research is helping scientists better understand the neurological condition known as musical anhedonia, a state of apathy towards music. Between three and five percent of the world’s population suffers from this affliction, which is a rare form of general anhedonia—the inability to feel any kind of pleasure. Though musical anhedonics don’t suffer from depression the way that general anhedonics do, they often feel bored and distracted when music is playing. We suggest that you don’t invite one to your next DJ set.
