Stereo Field, a product of the Brooklyn-based company Landscape Tapes, is a versatile new sound box that has the capacity to act as a controller, sound generator and sound processor. Its simple and highly unusual design—twin touch plates in the shape of overlapping concentric circles—reveal its underlying analog circuitry. These can be patched to an external source to generate raw, atonal sounds or to control signals made by incoming signals. The results are wild.
