Does Arturia's experimental hybrid synth live up to the hype?

We first became interested in Arturia’s MicroFreak synthesizer when we saw some demos of it from this year’s NAMM. It’s an experimental hybrid synth that, astoundingly, costs less than €300. We saw the videos and wondered how it could possibly live up to the hype at that price.
