Techno And Augmented Reality Collide In This Trippy Video

There’s more to Throwing Snow’s new album than what you can hear.

In January, London-based producer Throwing Snow released his second full-length album, Embers, via Fabric-affiliated label Houndstooth. It turns out, however, the album is just as exciting for the secret buried in the record’s design as the music inside it. Using augmented reality technology from Layar, the album art morphs into a pulsing movement of color and music when a phone is pointed at it. It effectively opens up a whole new frontier of virtual record art. But weren’t you always warned never to judge a record by its cover? Check out the video below.
