Watch A Music Video For The Forthcoming EP On Phase Fatale's BITE Label
SARIN’s Kuleshov Effect EP is a technoid EBM stomper from one of Berlin’s most exciting talents.
SARIN (pictured) is set to drop an EP on underground label BITE later this month. The four-track 12″ will be the third release on the burgeoning label headed by fellow EBM and techno don Phase Fatale.
The Kuleshov Effect EP marks the fifth record from Iranian-born, Berlin-based musician and audiovisual artist Emad Dabiri. It sees a further development and refinement of Dabiri’s pulsating, EBM-infused sound, with cutup sample techniques, infectious basslines and needling drums all combining to massive effect.
The name of the EP is taken from a cinematic technique developed in 1920s Russia, where a third, synthesized meaning is created through the montage of two juxtaposed images. In the official video for the opening track, “World Condition”, SARIN has put this technique to the test, creating a striking and politically-charged experience that fits perfectly with the raucous groove.
Kuleshove Effect will be released on 12″ and digitally on July 23. It follows Phase Fatale’s recent collaboration with Silent Servant on BITE as well as the label head’s dystopia-inspired debut release for Ostgut Ton.
