They Call It Acid chronicles the movement’s rise in ’80s England.
It’s been 14 years since rave documentary They Call It Acid first started production. And though it’s taken a while, the project is finally nearing completion. The film offers a detailed investigation into the world surrounding rave culture’s genesis in the deserted warehouses and open fields of late-’80s and early ’90s England. It features narration by Robert Owens and interviews with such luminaries as Derrick May, Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold. Watch the trailer below.
