Trans-genre: Joey Hansom’s 2012 Mixtape
Another year ending, another mini-panic attack from the pressure of arbitrarily deciding what’s better than what. So, here’s my mixtape with a few favorites from 2012. It’s my typical transgenre approach, although more far-reaching and haphazard than I might play in a club. But you can dance to the middle half, maybe even mosh for a bit. If you prefer to remain seated while listening, that’s also fine. I think this was a good year for distortion and delay, drip-droppy aquatic sounds, sterile beats and weird vocal FX. I hope I win a Grammy for my mixtape.
