VCMG – First Listen: The new album ‘Ssss’ by Vince Clarke & Martin L. Gore streaming in full
They’ve seen it all, they’ve heard it all, and they’ve been part of nearly everything musicwise during the last three decades. When Vince Clarke and Martin L. Gore recently announced their comeback as VCMG, it was obvious that they wouldn’t be reinventing the wheel of techno music, but focussing on their own respective roots as well as industrial and minimal music’s essence. Their joint brainchild VCMG was revived in late 2011, about thirty years after Clarke (of Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure) and Gore (Depeche Mode) originally started their collaboration.
With their first ever full-length album, VCMG explore straightforward, dark, and dry as a bone techno music with a backward-looking approach – but in a rather nostalgic than anachronistic way. Ssss apparently is very fitting for big clubs with an industrial look and feel.
Following up on the EPs ‘Spock‘ and ‘Single Blip’, Ssss brings eight new tracks as well as the EPs title tracks, making Vince Clarke’s and Martin L. Gore’s comeback perfect.
Electronic Beats is proud to be premiering the record, which will be out on March 12th on Mute Records – listen to all VCMG darting their tongues in and out with Ssss‘s ten tracks below.
Now let’s wait and see what happens with this new Depeche Mode album announced for 2013.
