Videodrome 85 – This week’s best videos

New week, new music videos… Same old obstacles. As GEMA is still blocking pretty much each and every music video here in Germany it takes time to find the backdoors and secret routes for our German followers. This week even saw Tape.TV get GEMA-blocked, but I’m sure you all know the game by now—and one thing is for certain: they can’t stop us. Videodrome will continue to work tirelessly to navigate the rush of audio-visual happenings from around the world, so have fun while discovering hot new visual treatments for the likes of Karl Bartos, Crystal Castles, Nite Jewel, Rainy Milo and many, many more.

#1 oMMM – Molly, directed by Will Clarke

oMMM is Edmund Davie from London and he pushes a genre called, um, bedcore. According to his bandcamp, “Bedcore is what happens when acid house can’t be arsed to get up in the morning.” Sounds promising.

#2 Karl Bartos – Atomium, dir?

Karl Bartos of Kraftwerk fame is back in the game. And the game, aka the promo tour de force, just started with this music video above, teasing Bartos’ new single “Atomnium”.

#3 Crystal Castles – Sad Eyes, directed by Rob Hawkins & Marc Pannozzo

New video for “Sad Eyes” taken from Crystal Castles’ third album (III), which has been out since the end of 2012 via Fiction. The grainy video, shot in Toronto and Berlin, directed by Rob Hawkins and Marc Pannozzo is worth a peep.

#4 Rainy Milo – Don’t Regret Me, dir?

16 year old singer-songwriter Rainy Milo from London just dropped this nice GIF-embellished video for ‘Don’t Regret Me’ off her mixtape Limey. <Talent klaxon>.

#5 Ultraísta – Wash It Over, dir?

Here’s the new music video for “Wash It Over” by Ultraísta, off the self-titled debut album, out now on Temporary Residence. Produced by Nigel Godrich of Radiohead renown.

#6 Shugo Tokumaru – Katachi, directed by Kijek/Adamski

Clearly one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a while, Shugo Tokumaru’s  “Katachi” is taken from his new album In Focus? Pick up the album over at Bandcamp forthwith.

#7 Heems – Soup Boys, dir?

Heems = Himanshu = 1/2 of Das Racist = new video off his newest mixtape Wild Water Kingdom = download here.

#8 Rare Times – No One’s Looking Out, directed by Mike Harris & Barney Patterson

Amaze. These are Rare Times and they are ready to unveil three (!!!) EPs this year. “No One’s Looking Out” is the first single, released February 25 on brand new label Feel So Real.

#9 Nite Jewel – Memory, Man, directed by Angus Borsos

Nite Jewel is what I need. Check this nice little video for “Memory, Man” taken from the album One Second of Love, released March 6 via Secretly Canadian.

#10 SFV Acid – AS IS, dir?

UNO NYC has just released SFV Acid‘s debut record entitled Neighborhood Archives. Since you know how much I love UNO (home to artists such as Jacques Greene, CFCF, Mykki Blanco, Arca and, yes, Gobby) you might be inclined to follow me on this weird terrain.
