What’s up with Switch and Diplo?

Two tenuously connected bits of bass music news. Firstly fidget pioneer and ghetto-house producer Switch, aka Dave Taylor, is to release his first piece of new music in over four years on the label he set up – Dubsided. Featuring the vocal flex of Andrea Martin ‘I Still Love You’ is an epic statment of future soul that simply kills. We cannot wait to hear it in a club, but in the meantime we will satisfy ourselves with a Soundcloud stream which you can also hear below.

And it is not only Switch who is throwing of his muscular robes for something deeper and more delicate. Taylor’s Major Lazer band mate Diplo and Lunice have teamed up to remix the track ‘Vow’ by NYC’s indie darling Julianna Barwick. Sounding slightly like an updated version of Clannad with drum machines and a blog, I had to crawl across my desk and demand to see the bandcamp page before I would believe that Diplo had a hand in what is a simply stunning remix.
